Alabama Double Down: Tide basketball offers standout tight end

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — One of the top football prospects in the nation is now garnering attention nationally as a star on the hardwood.

Ahmad Hudson is already a top-15 prospect in 247sports football rankings, and is now ranked No. 20 overall by the recruiting service.

This all comes after an impressive stretch of grassroots ball in Augusta, South Carolina where scored 12 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocks in 23 minutes Friday afternoon, which earned him multiple SEC offers.

Hudson attends Ruston High School in North Louisiana and boasts a 5-star rating on the hardwood, and is on the cusp of receiving one for basketball.

The Tide’s coaching staff offered the 6-foot-6.5, 230 pound tight end during the fall as he recorded 41 receptions for 718 yards and six touchdowns during his sophomore campaign.

His prowess on the gridiron transitioned well as Hudson averaged 19 points, 13 rebounds and two blocks per game for the Ruston Bearcats.

The class of 2027 prospect is the No. 20 overall prospect in 247sports basketball class, No. 4 among power forwards and No. 1 player in Louisiana. Grambling State, Louisiana Tech, LSU, Auburn and Alabama have extended offers.

As for his football potential, Hudson ranks No. 12 nationally, No. 1 at tight end and No. 2 among players from The Boot. He holds offers from Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Texas A&M, Auburn, Miami, Florida, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Oregon, USC and many others.
