TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama coaches are wasting no time in the recruiting realm this offseason.

Not only are they recruiting the 2026 class extremely hard, but getting quality with a number of commitments over the past week, soaring to No. 11 in 247sports composite rankings

Second-year Crimson Tide coach Kalen DeBoer knows the Simpson family fairly well considering Ty has been praised heavily this offseason as he is in line to potentially be the starter this fall.

His brother, Graham, received a scholarship offer Thursday but has quite some time to decide given he is a 2028 prospect.

The younger Simpson is from Martin, Tennessee where his father Jason is the head coach for UT-Martin.

It’s obvious the family respects the sport given how wild the college football landscape can be due to NIL and transfer portal activity.

Ty enters his fourth year at Alabama as a redshirt junior with an opportunity to make his first start at the college level against Florida State Aug. 30 at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee.

Graham will have a chance to go through a busy recruitment in similar fashion to Ty, who was a 5-star quarterback coming out of the same high school.

While most of the focus nationally right now is centered around the 2026 recruiting class, Graham’s seems to be taking off now that Alabama has offered along with Arizona, Arkansas, Boston College, Duke, Memphis, Mississippi State, UNC, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Syracuse and UCLA already extending offers.

Simpson, a 6-foot-3, 185 pound quarterback was named MaxPreps Freshman of the Year for 2024, following a season that saw him complete 77% of his passes for 2,752 yards and 43 touchdowns without an interception.
